To My Mom

Every word she speaks is precious
It’s like being in the mountains and finding jewels
With every step I take
It’s like going through a wonderful valley
A light shady forest, or a beautiful alley
Along an inspiring and powerful lake
And still being at home

For every precious stone reminds me of her
And of her smile that perfumes the air
And of her eyes that warm my soul
And of the times she made me whole

And in the nights when I can’t sleep
I think of her lullaby and her wonderful voice
It gives me confidence and I rejoice
Then I start sleeping and dreaming so deep

And when the morning comes
The morning star reminds me of her
And of how much she loves me and cares
And whatever the day may bring
I can go in peace
And in my heart I sing
